Healthy Living
Picture
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), Health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being.

Healthy Living is about taking responsibility for your own health and making smart healthy choices each day.

Eating right, getting physically fit, emotional wellness, spiritual wellness and regular exams for prevention are all a part of creating a healthy lifestyle.

According to the CDC, www.cdc.gov/healthyplaces/healthtopics/physactivity.htm
Physical activity can improve health. People who are physically active live longer and have lower risks for heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, depression, and some cancers

Your Body
Your body requires good nutrition, appropriate weight, beneficial exercise, adequate rest and proper stress management. Daily physical activity can greatly improve your quality of life and lifespan, but according to the American Heart Association, 70 percent of Americans don't get enough exercise. Sedentary people are at a higher risk for developing problems with cholesterol, blood sugar, blood pressure and weight.

Emotionally
You need to manage your stress,  Stress can have a negative effect on emotional well-being, interrupt sleep, reduce energy levels and cause a variety of physical aches and pains. Stress isn't completely avoidable, but learning how to effectively deal with it can prevent it from negatively effecting your health. Practice positive self-talk, eliminate unnecessary stress, take time to do things you find pleasure in and devote time each day to relaxation or meditation to keep stress levels at bay.
For some, having a "spiritual self" can bring inner calmness and bring openness to creativity. Some feel peace having a relationship with a higher power.
